Destiny whipped up a RANCH pie. It looks like cheesecake…smells lightly ranch-y.
Ranch pie is raunch. No one could swallow a bite. Perhaps it was the cup of sugar mixed in with the ranch? 10/10 would not recommend.
Eric let his morning orange juice sit out all day and decided to make that into a pie! It was actually quite tasty! Almost like a key lime pie, but a little thicker.
Clare brought in a pie that didn’t look like it was from this planet. It was Listerine pie! She opted for a “cool mint” flavored mouthwash. It was…not as bad as we expected, but definitely still tastes STRONGLY like mouthwash. One bite will do.
The blueberry wine pie was nice, but Clare and Destiny DEFINITELY tasted the wine. Eric didn’t taste the alcohol in the pie…or in the wine.
Destiny “pied” a cold brew caramel-chocolate flavored coffee pie. It tasted okay, but Destiny realized she only cooked the pie for half the time it was supposed to bake. Whoops!
Eric “pied” one of his favorite beverages, root beer.
Eric’s root beer pie needed some better mixing, but of the three pies the flavor was probably the best.
Clare said “hello summer” and kicked it poolside with the kids.
Destiny drove to her hometown to check out the new glow in the dark trail in Vinton!
Friday and Saturday nights were dedicated to the Williamson wedding in Iowa City. Eric performed the ceremony, quoting Eminem and Dr. Seuss as part of his message on the importance of “genuine moments.”
Joe Jennison hosted the Morning Scramble from the Mount Vernon Visitor’s Center.
Mount Vernon is ready for their annual Chocolate Stroll. Sherene Player stopped by to give Clare and Eric full details on the event and pointers on how to keep your chocolate cool.
Walking your dog in front of the CVB in Mount Vernon is a very popular thing to do. Clare and Eric got to meet lots of cute pups!
The Morning Scramble LIVE in front of a studio audience.
Eric’s birthday presents came with instructions: he could not open them until 7:50 am and he had to open them in order. Eric loves rules, so these were very exciting!!
Eric’s birthday presents were also clues to what city Eric would be traveling for his birthday. He got a can of Chef Boyardee Spaghetti, but Chef Boyardee was crossed out and the word “Mom” was written. “Mom’s Spaghetti.” And he got a Four Tops album…which is a Motown record.
BIG thanks to ICED Bakery in Marion for whipping up some surprise cupcakes for Clare!
Eric shocked Clare with this huge arrangement of flowers…he bought it from the Freedom Festival Tribute to Heroes Dinner. It’s roughly the size of a toddler!!
