TASTE IT TUESDAY: 4TH OF JULY SIDES

Eric made his mom’s recipe for potato salad. There’s no mustard–instead she uses Beau Monde seasoning.

There’s no relish, but the dish does include radishes. Delish!

Clare got her side dish from the dirt! Her garden is producing cucumbers like crazy, so she made cucumber salad.

Clare’s cucumber salad is just cucumber, onion, vinegar, sugar, water, and dill. Sort of like a deconstructed pickle?

Destiny wanted to made some thing sweet, but didn’t want to heat up the house. She found these Pinterest-worthy treats.

Salty and sweet is always a winning combination and these are super cute for the 4th.

TASTE IT TUESDAY: TIKTOK FRUIT AND VEGETABLES

Cinnamon on watermelon gives a little kick to watermelon. Destiny liked it, but Clare and Eric say plain ‘ol watermelon is good on its own!

Clare’s husband suggested they try cantaloupe with salt and pepper sprinkled on it. Not bad. It gives a more savory flavor to the melon.

Lizzo told TikTok that mustard on watermelon is good. Lizzo is a liar. Well, Destiny liked it, but Eric and Clare do not recommend you try this. Yuck.

Moving on to…vegetables. It makes sense that we’d want to cover up the flavor of our veggies.

Eric tried radishes with butter and salt at a fancy restaurant and it was delicious! He really wanted Clare and Destiny to give it a try, but we must have assembled it wrong? Not delicious.

Next up: Peanut butter and green pepper…was actually FANTASTIC! The creaminess of the peanut butter gets tamed by the juicy pepper. And the flavors meld well.
