Eric hit the trail for a virtual 5K to save Chubby Unicorns.
Clare and the kids camped out in the basement and watched “Cruella.” It’s free on Disney+!
Destiny grabbed the mop and broom and got around to some LATE spring cleaning. She also finally put up these picture frames she got as a Christmas gift.
Hawkeye Football is back! We wanted to celebrate and bring back the entire Z102.9 Marching Band, but given the spread of the delta variant, that’s probably not wise. So instead, this season we bring you…”Bubble Band.” A small, bite-sized portion of the Z102.9 Marching Band for your Friday morning listening enjoyment.
Every breakfast place has a breakfast burrito, but why does no one make a breakfast taco? Clare was inspired to give it a try.
Hard shell taco, scrambled eggs, cheese, bacon, fresh salsa, and of course, french fries. So easy and so good! And you don’t have to worry about how to wrap a tortilla.
Destiny’s favorite breakfast food is pancakes. So she got inspired to mash-up her favorite–chocolate chip pancakes–with french fries.
Maple syrup and french fries works. The chocolate chips aren’t bad. Destiny is in love. Clare and Eric probably won’t make this again.
Eric took the “French” in french fries to the next level. He chose to top his fries with the fillings traditionally found in French crepes.
Strawberries, Bananas, Nutella, and a sprinkling of cinnamon and sugar made for one sweet bite. Fries can handle sweet!
These dishes were a little intimidating to create for Clare, so she turned to Chef Michael, the Executive Chef at Grand Living at Indian Creek for a little help in the kitchen…okay, a lot of help.
‘Chicken Bolognese Loaf with Angel Hair Pasta’ probably looks the most like cat food, but don’t let that chicken meatloaf fool you; it’s quite tasty!
‘Chicken and Ramen with Tomato Honey Butter Sauce’ was the best ramen Destiny has ever had. It’s not overly salty like the stuff you heat up in a cup. Chef Michael suggests you buy the noodles, but toss the flavor packet and make your own.
‘Roasted Salmon with Spiced French Toast, Cardamom Carrots and Maple Rosemary Sauce’ seemed like a strange combination. French Toast and Salmon? But it was SO GOOD. Clare and Destiny agreed–it wins best dish!
Eric had a huge weekend, so he gets two shots: he had a big win with the Chapman family from Tipton! Bueford T Justice won the People’s Choice Award at the Iowa State Fair!
Hella Mega Tour. Wrigley. Green Day. Weezer. Fall Out Boy.
Clare’s crew got together for Sunday brunch.
Destiny spent the day at the The Sunflower Experience.
It looks like a cross between a poptart and a pig in a blanket. It’s served with a side of apple mustard with maple bacon crumble. It’s not terrible. It’s not great. It’s not necessary.
